At the beginning of 2017, BIBIBOP asian grill stuck a deal with Chipotle to purchase the leases of 13 defunct ShopHouse locations located in D.C., MD, IL and CA which doubled the size of the company over night. I was responsible for finding a way to brand these stores as BIBIBOPs through graphics and assets working hand in hand with Tanaya Candella from the construction department. The stores were originally turned over to me in the form of pictures taken by the executive team on their initial tour and I photoshopped over all the images. After several rounds we were able to move onto altering the elevations that were turned over to us. The store pictured is the Beverly location and pictures were provided by Rachel Newbury.
The conversions called for special branding that had never been used in our corporate locations and included large scale items laser cut from PVC, a different style menu board that would fit the existing rigging, and the creation of a new WELL B•ING icon that replaced our full mission statement. I obtained beautiful pictures of South Korea from the CEO’s daughter Becky Shin and created a piece about the company that was printed onto wood. This was also our first time placing individual punched Icon’s applied as a mural on the windows of nearly all of the locations.
